An arbitration proceeding between Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc. and Lawrence
J. Lasser, former President & CEO of Putnam Investments, has been initiated with
respect to the amount of money, if any, owed to Mr. Lasser in connection with
his termination from Putnam.
