Item 8.01 Other Events.

On May 26, 2010, AutoNation, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that its Board of Directors has authorized the repurchase of up to an additional $250 million of the Company’s common stock under the Company’s existing share repurchase program. A copy of the press release is filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
