Item 8.01 Other Events
Aleris International, Inc. (the “Company”) issued a press release on December 14, 2006 announcing that the stockholders of the Company voted to adopt the merger agreement providing for the acquisition of the Company by an entity currently indirectly owned by private equity funds sponsored by Texas Pacific Group.
A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
