Taro Expects to Receive Report from Independent Counsel by October 20, 2006 HAWTHORNE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 5, 2006--Taro Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. ("Taro," the "Company," NASDAQ: TARO) today announced that its Board of Directors presently expects to receive the report from the independent counsel retained by its Audit Committee to investigate the circumstances relating to the previously announced restatement of the Company's 2003 and 2004 financial results by October 20, 2006. Upon receiving the independent counsel's report, Taro will provide a report on the investigation to the Nasdaq Listing Qualifications Panel in connection with the Company's request for continued listing of its shares on The Nasdaq Global Select Market. As previously announced, subject to the Panel's review of the report, a further extension, to November 17, 2006, was granted for Taro to file its Annual Report on Form 20-F for the year ended December 31, 2005 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
